New Music Doings
Well, kids, the time has come. I am thrilled to present: Have You Ever?
Have You Ever? is a little venture my friend Emily and I put together slowly over the past couple years, while seeing how many songs we could shoe-horn into a single live-performance mash-up. We built a nice little setlist, have rehearsed our brains out, and are debuting next week on June 3 at Muskegon Street Performers‘ First Friday in downtown Muskegon. If you’re a Muskegon local, I’d love to see you there! Bring the kids, eat some faire food, and see some amazing performers – including me and Emily and a slew of fun, fun, fun music you will probably recognize.
The following video is a one-shot recording from one of our recent rehearsals. Enjoy, if you can, the sad-bastard trifecta of “Desire” by Ryan Adams, “Cannonball” by Damien Rice, with a slice of “Foolish Games” by Jewel to spice things up in the middle. We call it “Cannonball of Foolish Desire.” (My favorite part remains my facial expressions while I am playing a live fade-out – seriously, you could stop watching just after the four minute mark, and you don’t miss much. This is one of my favorite things in life, though, and it is silly as hell.)
(This video makes me want more tattoos.)
If you can’t make it on June 3rd, worry not! We’ll be back for a repeat performance at the second Muskegon Street Performers event in August….and who knows? We may even put together some other shows, too.
Summer is coming, folks. Time for some fun!
If you want to keep track of Have You Ever?’s adventures, you can do that on Facebook or YouTube. Also, if you have ideas for silly mashups, we’d love to hear them!
